Barney wishes you a Happy Slapsgiving!!!

We started the long weekend with trivia at Mc Goons Taxi Co - A Rochester comedy club. The Nachos were pretty scary but the chips were great... For thanksgiving dinner we headed off to Mary Beth's. Mary Beth kindly hosted all the international visitors for the night.

Menu: Turkey, stuffing, sweet potato with brown sugar, mashed potato, green bean casserole & curry puffs.

We tried the canned and wonderful home made versions of cranberry sauce. I've never like the stuff we get in Australia but the home made relish made me realise why Americans love it. It was terrific.

For dessert, we brought along pavlova - it drew a lot of interest and everyone said they enjoyed it.

We also had shortbread (from British Rebecca) and Pumpkin Cheesecake (Mary Beth's creation!).

Here's how the pavlova worked out. Everyone thought it was funny that the 'Aussies' brought 'Kiwis' along :)

Hot black teas aren't really popular in the states. We've found that most people who drink 'tea' mean that they drink herbal or iced versions. This was demonstrated quite clearly to us when we compared the black tea that Mary Beth keeps for guests and the iced tea with contemporary packaging.
