The Royal Mile
A view of the castle from Lothian St.
Made sure to try some Haggis - it was great! - The haggis is the dark brown one, it is served with mashed 'neeps' (turnips) and 'tatties' (potato). According to the Mayo's wife, this is how it must be served. Pictured here with whiskey sauce - yum!
I (e) went to the Elephant House (as recommended by Nic and the Lonely Planet). It is the place where the first Harry Potter book was written...the place was packed and didn't look that impressive to my jet-lagged eyes so I went a few doors up, grabbed a pie and an Irn-Bru, and ate lunch in the beautiful Greyfriar's Cemetery nearby.
