On a lovely Saturday morning we headed off to Roscoe's BBQ. One of the three main Barbeque places in Rochester. We've already tried John Hardy's, so this is the second in the holy trinity of smoked meat.
We caught the bus from just outside our corner store. These shots show you that there's still a bit of snow hanging around but the streets are pretty clean at the moment.
Brad got the 6 Rib Plate with potato salad and black eye pea salad.
Erin ordered the shredded chicken sandwich. Shredded or 'pulled' meats feature heavily on the American BBQ menus. No grilled rissoles or lamb chops in sight....not even a steak!
The final result? Roscoe's beats John Hardy's in the ribs category but John Hardy's shredded meat is better. Roscoe's also wins the all important salad/sides category.
Next up: Famous Dave's and, in the Spring, Roscoe's outdoor venue (located just down the road from our place!).
